SWOT Analysis
How?
- Swot Analysis Matrix consists of 4 column of aspects (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats )
[ Weaknesses ]
- consider you or your organisation weaknesses and be honest with it (realistic)
- think about what you could improve, and the sorts of practices you should avoid
- take time to examine how and why your competitors are doing better than you
[ Opportunities ]
- Opening or chances for something positive to happen
- think about good opportunities you can spot immediately
- don't need a game-changer but even small advantages can increase your competitiveness
[ Strength ]
- things that you or your organisation does particularly well, that will distinguished you from competitors
- turn your perspective around and ask yourself what your competitors might see as your strengths
[ Threats ]
- include anything that can negatively affect you or your business from outside (surrounding)
- think about obstacles you face
- always consider what your competitors are doing
- avoid copying others which will lead delayed in improving yourself
Use?
- After listing a lot of points under the 4 aspects, look for potential connections between the column of aspects ( your strengths might help to open opportunities )
- carry through the options you generate to later stages in your strategy formation and apply them at the right level
What?
- Stands for Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats
- technique for accessing these 4 aspects of your business
- reduce the chances of failure, by understanding what you're lacking, and eliminating unaware hazards
