Dad

My dad raised me and taught me how to deal with others. He always knew about my drama with people and guided me with how he would deal with those situations. It helped me make my own decisions and he influenced that.

Volleyball

I’ve always used the sport itself as an escape from anything I’m dealing with. It’s always helped me stay calm as I was able to take a break from everything. The mechanics and possibilities of the game has taught me that so many things are possible and it’s not impossible to get back up after being down.

Mr. Abanico

After having him as a coach and as a teacher he was able to teach me a lot about how I view the world. Social Justice gave me a new perspective on a lot of social topics and helped me understand why people are the way they are.

Paul Walker

He has always been a big influence on my interest in cars and his passing took a toll on my whole family. It gave me a new perspective on the value of life and how it could be taken at any moment. He truly lived it out to the fullest and reminds me to do so too.

St. Bede School

This school and the people in it taught me how to be patient. It’s normal to have disagreements with others and that doesn’t mean you have to be on bad terms with them. This school is definitely not a memory I prioritize in remembering but the experience taught me a lot.

Older Brother, Josh

My brother has always been there for me when there were times I wasn’t comfortable telling my parents some things. Whether it was about them or about a heartbreak, he’s already gone through a similar experience and knew what to say and how to comfort me.

Priscilla

I’ve always been mutual friends with Priscilla, but only recently we’ve gotten extremely close in the span of these past few months. It’s nice to know that they’re people going through such similar things in their lives and it’s comforting to know that. Having her as a friend taught me that people come and go in your life and she came in at a good time.

Mom

She raised me and was the first influence to teach me right from wrong. As I’ve gotten older and I see how little children treat their parents I’m glad she was the way she was. Although it felt unfair before, I’m happy I’m able to get equal respect from my parents when I treat them with respect as well.

Catholic Church

As the quarantine started I’ve been feeling distant to God. As much as I try to go to church I just don’t feel as engaged as I did before, but recently I felt a reconnection and realized that no matter what I do or how far I drift God is always going to be there and I feel secure in my relationship with him.

Angie

After being friends for about three years now, we learned to grow together and educate ourselves with what’s right and wrong. We always keep each other in check and make sure we’re always considerate of other people. She is a really good influence on me.
