BreakOut session
What happens if a plant doesn't get enough water?
If a plant does not enough water it will lose the ability to perform photosynthesis due to H2O being a essential component in the process
decrease in the production of glucose
When there is a decrease in the production of glucose there will not have enoght "ATP" to be created
The rate of transpiration in the plant will decrease due to water being scarce and the plant needing to conserve water
The plant can't photosynthisis very well and water is a limited factor. Th plant will dry, the transpiration will not happen.
Plants roots will be weaker and won't be able to absorb that much water in the future
the plant will also become dry and eventually die
plants require water for the production of food, glucose, and many other necessities.
If a plant is not watered sufficiently, it will suffer from Moisture stress.
Plants will have a harder time absorbing water because it is not used to having water available
Plants need regular watering
The plant will try to conserve water by lowering its rates of transpiration and photosynthesis
Plants subject to mild stress can recover in a couple of days, but more severely stressed plants may never recover their full photosynthesis.
h
water plants twice a week except during summer time. You need more watering due to the high heat and evaporation in the summer. Also some plants need more water than the others.
When there is enough water pressure to make the leaves strong and sturdy
The color will changee into brown or orange
What happens if plant get too much water?
Over-watering can kill a plant more quickly than under-watering.
This results in a limited oxygen supply and plants are not able to breathe.
When plants have too little water, leaves turn brown and wilt.
This also occurs when plants have too much water.
The biggest difference between the two is that too little water will result in your plant's leaves feeling dry and crispy to the touch while too much water results in soft and limp leaves.
Water pressure begins to build in the cells of plant leaves when the roots absorb more water than they can use.
Cells will eventually die and burst, forming blisters and areas that look like lesions.
Causes a stunted slow growth.
Leaves start becoming yellow
The soil start appearing green due to algae
If a plant get's too much water, it will not be able to get air from the soil, as the soil is constantly wet, which may cause for the plant to drown.
This is because if there is too much water or if the soil is constantly wet, it can lead to the plant suffocating and not getting enough air to breathe
This can lead to the plant eventually dying due to suffocation and drowning
