Other Accommodations: Emotional disturbances include several different disabilities such as Schizophrenia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Eating Disorders, and a variety of other Psychotic Disorders. Thus, the accommodations vary widely and may include cognitive behavior therapy, medication, counseling, and community based services (Council for Exceptional Children, 2020). Some more common accommodations that students may receive in school are frequent check ins, one on one instruction, extended time, mood trackers, and graphic organizers. Please see my Coggle below for a more detailed process of how to assist students who may struggle with emotional disturbance and other learning disabilities.
