ECOSYSTEM - Coggle Diagram
ECOSYSTEM
ECOLOGY?
“relationship between the living organims, habitats, and resources of a given area. Organism typically dependent on each other and their habitat for survival.”
ECOSYSTEM?
“biological community where the living and the non-living components interact with each other an their physical environment”
NICHE?
“organism free from the interference of other species nd can use full range of abiotic and biotic resources for survive and reproduce”
HABITAT ECOLOGY?
“type of natural environment in which a particular species of an organism live, characterized by both physical and biological features”
TYPE OF ECOSYSTEM
- TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEM
“ found only on land”include :
- forest
- grassland
- desert ecosystem
- mountain ecosystem
- AQUATIC ECOSYSTEM
” ecosystem in the water body”include :
- freshwater
- lentic : slow-loving or stil water such as lakes, ponds, pools
- lotic : fast-moving waterbodies such s rivers and streams
- wetlands : environment whre soil is saturated with water for a certain time period
- OCEANIC ECOSYSTEM
include :
- marine
- deep water
- shallow water
- deep ocean surface
ECOLOGICAL PYRAMIDS” graphical representation of the relationship between different organisms”
- each bar represent different trophic level
- PYRAMID OF NUMBERS
“represent number of organism in each trophic level irrespective of their size”
- PYRAMID OF BIOMASS
” represent the total mass of oganism at each trophic level”
- PYRAMID OF PRODUCTIVITY
” total amount of energy present at each trophic level and total energy between each trophic level”
ENERGY FLOW
- energy enter biological system as light energy and transform into chemical energy in organic molecule by cellular process like photosynthesis and respiration then convert into heat energy
- energy is dissipated and it lost to system as heat and once lost it cant be recycled
- without continuing of input solar energy, biological system would shut down so Earth is open system with respect to energy
- during decomposition, the material doesnt destroyed so earth is. closed system respect to element. as element will keep cycled endlessly between biotic and abiotic within ecosystem
BIOGEOCHEMICAL CYCLE?
“ element ( carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and etc ) enter living organism in variety ways”
FOOD CHAIN
- TROPHIC LEVEL composed of organism that make a living in the same way which is primary producers (plant), primary consumer (herbivor), and secondary consumer (carnivors)
