Since I was a little girl, my mom made it a priority no to sugar coat anything to me. Her reason, the world doesn’t sugar coat anything, it just gives it to you as as. Just yesterday, I was in a 3 person gc of my co-council, and the entire time the two girls discussed how great they were and how great of a two-women team they would make ignoring me. I felt bad, but i was confident in my performance. My mom told me that it doesn't matter what or what is not said about you. You have to believe in your talent, and can’t depend on others for pride in your work. That’s why I love my mom so much, her advice is always solid, even if at the time I don’t understand.
