How he became interested in the stars?
There is a theory that Thales's interest in the stars was provoked after he fell into a well and his interest in the unseen emerged. He asked questions such as "What is heaven?" and "Is it above the stars in the night sky?"

His theory of oil presses
Thales predicted that olive presses would be needed at a specific period of time for the extraction of olive oil from olives. Using his astronomy observations and knowledge he foresaw a successful year for olives.
