Elizabeth
She came to the throne at the age of 25 and reigned for 45 years, She became the symbol of national unity
in 1559 with the act of supremacy, re-established the anglican church and proclamed herself supreme governor
She was called the virgin queen because she never married altought she had many suitors, the first was Philipp II of Spain. She never wanted politacl alliances, so rejected all proposal
Many people started considering the marriage between Henry and Anne illegal and considered May Stuart the rightful queen of England. Mary was involved in many plots to kill Elizabeth, and was founded in 1587 guilty of treason and after Elizabeth order was executed
Immediately, there was a war with Spain in 1588, Elizabeth defeated the spanish Armada, a gigantic fleet sent by Philip II to invade england, helped also adverse weather conditions and skilled english seamen, lead by Francis Drake.
