It’s vital that teachers know how to handle problems without using negative language, and addressing them wisely. When students have conflicts with each other, the teacher must remain neutral. She must act as a mediator to help them resolve the problem peacefully.
It's vital that all the teachers are culturally responsive educators. Where she understand her students, help them feel more confident to overcome any type of academic or social barriers; and also encourage their students to understand the different stereotypes that they can hear, and the reality of them.
Modeling behavior is one of the most important things a teacher needs to do inside the classroom. All of this in a positive way because we're are representing a role model for them. Trust is the basic principle we as teachers need to have always. Also, the teacher needs to always keep herself calm no matter the situation, and she needs to remember that all her students are under the same rights, and she always needs to be fair.
The more communication spaces a teacher provides in the classroom, the better. Either space where communication is between student-teacher, or between student-student. Teachers always need to be aware of the type of language that they use, to empower rather than defeating.
During the establishment of the rules, norms, and routines; the students need to take part in this process. And also, it’s important to use developmental discipline inside the class to lead students to think about how they behave and how they treat one another.
The right physical environment helps create a positive learning community. Let the students design the classroom, move some desks until you can create a perfect setting for them.
Building caring relationships with students is the cornerstone of good classroom management. Greet the students at the door, use photos around the class, and get to know them.
