TYPES OF SPOKEN LANGUAGE
Monologues: one speaker
- Planned/rehearsed/spoken from a written text or notes
- Spontaneous/impromptu/unplanned
In monologues when one speaker uses spoken language for any length of time, the hearer must process long stretches of speech without interruption. Planned and spontaneous monologues differ in their discourse structures.
