Blood vessels, blood composition and its roles recap
Arteries
Carry blood away from the heart, carries oxygenated blood.
Thick muscular walls and small lumen.
Veins
Carries blood to the heart, deoxygenated blood
Thinner walls than arteries, larger lumen, valves to prevent backflow
Capillaries
Allows diffusion of gases and nutrients from blood into the cells.
Very thin, one cell wall,
Red blood cells-
Contains hemoglobin which carries oxygen from the rest of the body and returns carbon dioxide from the body to the lungs so it can be exhaled.

Plasma-
Holds everything together, watery fluid part of the blood that makes it a liquid.
Composition of Air
The intercostal lungs contracts, pulling the lungs.

The air pressure outside the body is now higher than inside. Air always travels from high areas of pressure to low.
