Siobhan gave permission for Christopher to use the staff room toilet for 2 days as Christopher was uncomfortable to go into the toilet because there were poo on the floor and wet his pants. Siobhan was very considerate towards Christopher. - (page 129)

Interacting with strangers.
As Christopher rarely talking to strangers, he screams and panic when someone touches him. He even ask a woman in the station to stand further away when she's trying to offer help. Plus, with the strangers that does not aware of his autistic condition make its harder for him to communicate with them. (page 226)
Relationship between Christopher and other disabled students.
Christopher had a hard time mingling with Jack and Polly. Christopher couldn't bare Jack's behaviour when he bangs his head and make a noise like an animal in the car, to an extent Christopher jumped out of the the car and onto the road. (pg 196)
Having an understanding partner
- Mother felt lonely because Father seems to not understand the struggles that mother went through. Roger was there for Mother and mother starts to trust him because she feels comfortable talking to Roger about her problems. (page 135)
Anger controls action
- Father explained why he killed Wellington - he and Mrs. Shears got into an argument in Mrs. Shears garden and it didn't end well. After the argument, Father is with Wellington alone and because he was really mad at the dog, he killed the dog. (page 151)

Father brought home a Golden Retriever to pay off his past mistakes (page 266)
Mother started to pay attention to Christopher's education as she brought him to a bookshop and bought him Further Maths A Level book (267)

-The school that Christopher attended taught the students about the Stranger Danger
(This is not because of Stranger Danger, which they tell us about at school, which is where a strange mans offers you sweets or a ride in his car because he wants to do sex with you.)
Learning Opportunities for special children
Christopher had the opportunity to take his A- Level paper with the help of Siobhan. It was not a coercion as Siobhan said, 'You don't have to dot it. If you say you don't want to do it no one is going to be angry with you.' (pg 256-257)

RITES OF PASSAGE
Christopher going out of from his comfort zone
; he went to London by himself and solved the mystery of who killed Wellington. These events build his confidence and make him more brave in facing other challenges in life (page 267-268)
Part of growing up: Anger management issues
- Christopher hit his father and they got into a fight. (page 114)
A Parent's role
- Father was trying to understand on how to become a good parent. Father apologized to Christopher the next day after he had hit him and explained that he did not mean to. He even made Christopher wash the cut on his cheek with Dettol to make sure it wasn't infected, and had him put a plaster so it won't bleed. (page 108)
Maturity influence behaviour
- Christopher admit that he has lots of behavioural problems but he started to leave many of them as he grew older (page 59)

school psychologist playing out his role in checking up of his student
Mr. Jeavons , the school psychologist asked Christopher about the meaning behind the Good Day , Quite Good Day , Super Good Day and Black Days. Also he asked whether Christopher feel safe when things are in a nice order. (page 31 & 32)
Impact of mental illness to one's identity
The development of Christopher's mental illness shapes him to be a very organized and detail oriented person. Christopher had himself an everyday timetable and he must follow it to the T. (page192-193)

TRUST
Trust towards dog
. He wasn’t in fear when he needs to spend 3 days with his father as long as he got Sandy to protect him and bark if anyone came into the room. He likes dog very much as they are trustworthy, smart and don’t tell lies. (page 267)
Judy is honest with her feelings with Christopher.
This can be shown through the letters that she wrote to Christopher when she said she was sorry for not writing to him. (page 121)
Christopher's having trust issues
with proper novels. He said that he didn't like them because they are lie about things that didn't even happen and it make him feel shaky and scared about it Giving insight of his condition , having an autism spectrum. ( page 25 )
One of the policemen asks Christopher what he was doing holding his neighbor’s dead dog in her yard, and whether he killed Wellington. Christopher answers his questions honestly until there begin to be too many, and he can’t keep up anymore. Then he rolls into a ball again and groans to block out the rest of the world. (page 7-8)
A child's trust towards his father
Christopher feels couldn't trust his father anymore although he has been living with his father for years already because his father lied twice about her mother's death and he killed Wellington. (page 152)
Christopher did not trust his father as much as he trust his mother. However, the trust towards his father strengthens when Christopher had to go to his father's house regularly in order to play with his dog, Sandy. (page 265-266)

TREATMENT TOWARDS THE DISABLED/SPECIAL NEEDS
Treatment from authority
- Showing how the policemen were investigating Christopher while disregarding his explanation and mental instability 'he was asking too many questions, asking too quickly" He groaned as a response to stress from being pressured by the police, finally he hit the policeman because he dislikes non consensual touching (page 7-8) policeman arrested Christopher (pg 11)
Father was cautious when he had to went out to work. He informed Christopher that he had to go out by asking him to behave and to ring him on his mobile phone if there was a problem.- (page 130)
Verbal bullying towards special needs children
- Christopher and his friends were being verbally bullied by children from other school 'sometimes the children from the school down the road see us in the street when we're getting off the bus and they shout, "Special Needs! Special Needs!"
Treatment of strangers show their level of awareness for autistic
. - showing how the policemen were trying to get Christopher to father back but instead of calming Christopher when he scream, he used inappropriate word and warn Christopher (page 198)
Roger Shears' treatment towards Christopher
. Roger was being unreasonable when he said, 'There is no school for him(Christopher) to go to'. Although it sounded more like an excuses for not having Christopher to live with them, the reason behind not having any school for disabled children was more like mocking Christopher's disability to study like normal people. (page 245)
Ignorance of society towards the disabled
- Julie, Christopher's main teacher laughs at Christopher when he falls for her trick. She also say to his parents that it will be challenging for Christopher to learn things at school. (page 145)
