Act 4
In this act she poses as a doctors clerk/ lawyer to save Antonio, she then demands the ring she gave Bassanio as payment.
Continues the anti-semetic views showed throughout the play, by referring to Shylock as "Jew".
-
She offers Shylock the ability to verge from his blood thirsty path "There's thrice thy money offered here"
Just before Shylock can take his bond she says "Tarry a little; there is something else this bond doth give thee here no jot of blood", she than continues onto say "If thous dost shed one drop of Christian blood, thy lands and goods are by the laws of Venice confiscate unto the state of Venice."
As Shylock asks and stammers for a way out he asks to leave with his honor for which Portia replies "To be taken at they peril, Jew"
-
Finally she says "Tarry Jew, the law hath one more hold on you", this causes the punishment to be laid on Shylock, and the crushing of his sprit
