Factors that Contribute to Climate Change
Milankovitch Cycles
Axial Tilt
An Axial Tilt is
when the amount of tilt of the Earth’s axis varies between 22.1˚ and 24.5˚. An Axial tilt cycle takes around 26,000 years.
Axial Tilts cause the Earth's summer's to be warmer, and the winters to be colder. This is because the poles are receiving less sunlight.
-
-
-
Precession
The precession is when the Earth wobbles like a top. This cycle usually takes around 26,000 years to completely.
-
Eccentricity
Eccentricity is when the shape of Earth's orbit shifts to an oval from a circle. This cycle usually takes around 100,000 years.
The Earth becomes colder because the Earth receives less rays from the sun, which makes the earth colder because it heats the ocean less, etc.

Natural Disasters
Volcanoes
Volcanic eruptions can contribute to global warming. They make the Earth warmer because when volcanos erupt they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This makes our planet warmer because carbon dioxide warms our planet due to the greenhouse gas effect.
-
-
Volcanoes can cause temporary global cooling. The reason why is because volcanic eruptions cause large amounts of sulfur dioxide and other gasses released. The reason why this makes the planet cooler is that these gasses reflect the sun's rays, making the earth cooler.
-
-
-
-
Forest Fires
Similar to volcanic eruptions, forest fires can also cause temporary global cooling. It causes global cooling in a similar way because aerosols, such as the soot in smoke released, can cause global cooling.
-
-
Forest Fires contribute to global warming because when the fire burns through the trees and soil it releases the carbon dioxide being stored within them into the atmosphere.
-
-
Icebergs Melting
Melting Icebergs can make the climate colder because ice has a high albedo. This makes the earth colder because less ice means that less amount of suns radiation is getting reflected. This puts the world in a positive feedback loop because it just keeps getting colder because of the ice, and therefore there would be more ice being made.
-
-
The ice melts which causes the water to be less salty and dense. When it's less dense it causes there to be fewer waterfalls which speed up the circulation so melting icebergs slow it down.;

El Nino and La Nina
La Nina
La Niña is the result of an increase in cooler water towards the coast of South America, which causes an increase in cloud buildup towards southeast Asia. As a result of this cloud build-up, Indonesia experiences warmer temperatures and more precipitation than normal, and the west coast of South America experiences cooler, dryer conditions.
-
-
-
South Americans don't like La Nina as it's harder for them to grow their crops in these conditions, and the wether isn't as nice.
-
For reasons not really understood, the ocean circulation in the Pacific Ocean reverses every 3 to 7 years. This causes short-term increased rainfall in South America and drought in Australia and Indonesia due to a shift in the prevailing winds that now carry air of a different temperature than normal conditions.
-
-
El Nino basically translate to Christ's Child. The reason why is because El Nino blesses them with good wether and their crops can prosper because of the moist conditions.
Human Affects
When fossil fuels are burned they create greenhouse gases that warm the environment as they prevent the suns rays
from leaving the planet.
Fracking contributes to global warming because it releases methane and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.Carbon Dioxide and Methane are both greenhouse gasses, which means they warm the planet due to the greenhouse gas affect.
-
-
Cars also contribute to global warming. When cars burn fossil fuels, they release methane and carbon dioxide, which I've stated are greenhouse gasses and warm the planet.
