Henry VIII (1509-1547)

Edward VI (1547-1553)
Because of a Catholic plot, Lady Jane Gray was taken prisoner to the Tower of Landon and later murdered
The young king died of consumption in 1553. Before dying he had named his Protestant cousin, Lady Jane Gray, as his successor.
The Book of Prayer became compulsory in 1558 with the Act of Uniformity. This helped the development of the English language
