        Follows the symbolism of the majority of this story taking place at night. When going to collect the medicine she describes the setting as dark and in shadows, could symbolize her naivety and her as well as the reader not knowing what she is doing there.
        
        When she turns on the light after finding her mother in the bathroom, she suddenly sees what is wrong and has to take care of the women who has taken care of her all her life. It is a moment of realisation
    - - She shows complex feelings like, fear, sadness, disgust, love
        
        She never wavers when it comes to the tasks she has to perform even though she is obviously frightened by them - she is brave
        
        Does not allow herself to break down until the end of the story, after she has to clean up the blood and sick from her mother
        
        This especially important as she is originally repulsed when seeing her mother
