Hydroelectric energy comes from water moving through turbines that power a generator. This is a renewable source of energy resource because the water cycle is constantly renewing the water.
sunlight
Sunlight is a renewable resource that provides us with light and heat. It is inexhaustible because the sun's energy will never run out.
wind
Wind is a renewable resource that will never come out because it is powered by the sun's heat. It is often used to generate energy.
Nonrenewable
Coal
Coal is a nonrenewable resource formed from plant remains being burned, and through heat and pressure, it forms coal that is an important energy source.
Petroleum
Petroleum comes from the leftover of tiny sea organisms. It is nonrenewable because this process takes millions of years to renew and it is used quickly.
Nuclear fission
Nuclear fission creates energy by using uranium ore to collide with an atom and split it apart. Because uranium ore is nonrenewable it makes the process difficult and expansive, but it creates a massive amount of energy.
Natural
plants
Plants are found in places with a lot of water and sunlight. Because they are planted again, they are able to be renewed quickly.
