Roles of Teachers in ELT
1. Controller
- control what is happening in the class (what students do and speak)
- classrooms are organized by teachers
2. Prompter
- teachers should encourage students in trying something new
- encourage students in making suggestions and new ideas
3. Resource
- teachers should always be available when students are in need of their help
4. Assessor
- giving feedbacks and support to students even when they are not on the right track
5. Organizer
- teachers should be able to organize the class' activities
- instructions should be clear so that students can follow smoothly
6. Tutor
- teacher should be able to control and give instructions when carrying out tasks
7. Investigator
- teachers should analyse and observe the whole class condition, teaching methods and students' types of learning
8. Role Model
- teachers should show good attitude and behavior as this can influence the students
9. Learner
- teachers should look things at students' view instead of cancelling them
10. Facilitator
- teachers should be able to provide suitable and effective learning experiences for the students
