4.Identify Communication Function of Visuals to Match Content Types
Evaluate your content to determine the individual graphics that will illustrate the content's key instructional points.
refer to the content types, fact, concept, process, procedure, principle.
matching the right graphic to the instructional purpose requires iteration and revision

Make a preliminary assessment of content graphic requirements
understand the limits of the framework and stay within them

what is the mood of the information you are presenting? everything should be graphically cohesive
5.Apply Principles of Psychological Instructional Events to Visual Design Decisions
Layout the individual graphic within the template display
focus the audience's attention, don't overwhelm them
use principles such as composition to graphically coordinate the audience from one section to the next
provide an overall better learning experience with the aide of the graphic. if it is not enhancing the audience experience/understanding, it is not effective
