Protein Structure Model

Validation
Ramachandran Plot
Plots the amino acids on to the graph depending on the types of dihedral angle (Psi angle/Phi angle) they contains.
Glycine and Proline are exceptional amino acids that can be ignored while plotting Ramachandran Plot
Glycine
R group of H offers very low stearic hindrance, allows the amino acid to occupy many spaces. No matter how big the other R groups are, there will be no stearic hindrance.
Glycine would be found all over the Ramachandran plot, even in disallowed regions
Proline
The ring structure in the proline obstructs phi angle rotation. Being unable to rotate, it would be found in a very specific region of the Ramachandran plot, which is the white region
when number of amino acids in the disallowed region is <5%, proposed model can be accepted
when number of amino acid in the disallowed region is >5%, proposed model is rejected and refinement of the model is required
