Seismic Waves
Types of seismic waves
Their are three types: primary waves, secondary waves, and surface waves.
-
Secondary waves or S-waves are slower than P-waves . They cause particles to move up and down at right angels relative to the direction the waves travel.
-
Seismic waves are released during earthquakes, and they travel in all directions.
-
The energy released is strongest at the center. So the farther away you are the less the ground moves.
