Threats to networks
Phishing: emails that try and trick people into giving away information to sources they believe to be legitimate but are actually malicious.

Denial of service (DOS): Where many computers (normally zombies) send packets to one place at the same time, bombarding the system.

Structured Query Language (SQL) injection: When SQL code is entered as a data input to interrogate the data structure and gain unauthorised access.

E.g. allowing the use of memory sticks, which can spread viruses.

Malware

Worms: Programs like viruses, except not hidden. Often spread through emails.

Viruses: Programs embedded into other files. They self-replicate and can damage and destroy data/files.
