The industrial population increased from 18% in 1928 to 50% in 1939. Allowing Russia to develop economically to a certain extent.
Livestock numbers increased, however did not surpass pre-collectivization levels till 1953
Grain production enabled exports to pay for technology in the 1930 and there were supplies to the towns and Red Army.

The amount of grain procured and exported increased. This allowed for some international trade which would raise the GDP and add Balance Of Tade

Negative Consequences
- Grain harvests did not recover to their pre 1928 level until the latter half of the 1930's
- The harvest of 1933 was 9 million tonnes less than that of 1926
- collectivisation failed to raise agricultural production
- few farms could afford new machinery
After the halt, the government resumed grain requisitioning which alongside the huge drop in grain production which ultimately caused a famine.
- Stalin ordered 17 million horses used in farming to be killed and replaced by tractors. However, there weren't enough tractors.

In 1930 alone, 25% of the nation’s cattle, sheep, and goats and one-third of all pigs were killed. It was not until the 1980s that the Soviet livestock numbers returned to their 1928 level.

- Collectivization was a drawback for the peasants and the Kulaks. They were forced to work on farms under state control. Private ownership was virtually non-existent as by 1940, around 97% of households were collectivized.
- Around 5 million people were deported and were never heard from again. They were forced to move out of Russia if they did not comply with the terms of collectivization. People fled to Central Asia, Scandinavia, and other parts of Europe.
- Collectivisation caused discontent amongst peasants
