Teenagers should eat multiple healthy foods in the daily serving amounts given in the food pyramid

What is needed?
Protein: HBV protein during the rapid growth years and for hormone production
Carbohydrates: Teenagers require 3 -7 servings per day depending on activity levels and gender
Calcium: Calcium-rich foods need to be included to help bones and teeth develop and harden
Iron: Iron-rich foods are important during teenage years due to an increased blood supply and Vegetarians must make sure they get enough iron by eating leafy vegetables, Anaemia is common in teenage females due to menstruation
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is needed for good general health and iron absorption

Adults are recommended to eat a large variety of health foods in the food pyramid for their servings
Certain nutrients are very important for the diets of adults
Calcium: Calcium-rich foods are required in order to avoid Osteoporosis (later life bone condition), Women should do be more careful with their diet since they are more vulnerable to getting it than men
Iron: Iron-Rich foods are required in order to prevent Anaemia.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is important for general health and iron absorption
Vitamin D: Vitamin D is needed for calcium absorption
