In the United States and Europe people spend 10-20% of their income on food
42% of food is wasted from a buyer

Weren't packaged correctly for shipment so food gets thrown out
Forgetting whats in the fridge which leads to food to go out of date and be wasted
Not making a proper shopping list leading to too much food being bought and not eaten
Not planning meals
Cooking too much than the individual can eat
Some producers over produce food
Some consumers don't understand the 'Best before date' and 'Use By date'
Often consumers throw away food that have 'Best before date" even though they are still safe to eat.

Rainforests being cut down in order to grow food that is wasted
Responsible for 1/4 of nearly all environmental pollution

Write and plan shopping lists
Plan the food for the week
If the individual prepares too much food. They should freeze it and eat it another time
In Supermarkets fruit and veg are already pre-packed and may be too much for some people.
Go to a farmers market so you can decide how much fruits and vegetables you want.
