Easement Formalities
National Land Code Section 282- easement means any right granted by one to another, in his capacity as such and for the beneficial enjoyment of his land in accordance with the following provisions of this Chapter.

Positive easement- gives the dominant owner a right to do something s 283(1) (a) - an affirmative easement might allow land owner A to drive his car over the land of B. A has and affirmative easement from B.

Liens
Liens can be defined as an act depositing something valuable to the amount owed to the person who holds the property.
Palaniappa Chetty v Dupire Brothers & Anor (1919), Federated Malay States (FMS) Court of Appeal had said that the meaning of lien is said to be derived through French from Latin that is ligo, ligamen is that of binding or tying or securing something.
Halsbury’s Laws of England (Vol. 19)- Lien is a right in one man to retain that which is in his possession belonging to another man until certain demands of the person in possession are satisfied.
two types of liens
equitable lien
A guide to equitable liens setting out the circumstances in which an equitable lien can arise by operation of law or when awarded as a proprietary equitable remedy for breach of trust or fiduciary duty.
statutory lien
A lien created by operation of law not requiring the consent of, or a security agreement with, the debtor (for example, tax liens and mechanic's liens).

A charge also is registered in Form 16A/16B as stated in the NLC form of charges section 242 (1) that mention every charge to secure the repayment of a debt, or the payment of any sum other than a debt
