Teaching is all about teachers and our role, but the most important aspects of educational processes are the students and what they learn.
Concept of learning

a set of events, outside the learners which are designed to support internal process of learning

traditional role - teacher centered
modern role - facilitator (student-centered)
Learning principles
prior knowledge can hinder or facilitate learning
organization of knowledge also influence how individual learn and apply what they know
motivation determine, directs and sustains what they do to learn
acquire component skills, and able to integrate and apply what they do know in order to achieve mastery
Learning and performance are best fostered when students engage in practice that focuses on a specific goal
teacher can shape the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical aspects of classroom climate in developmentally appropriate ways
learn to monitor and adjust approaches to learning
Teaching principles
acquiring relevant knowledge about students and using that knowledge to plan our lesson
aligning 3 major components of instruction: learning objective, assessment and instructional activities
being clear about our expectation and communicate it clearly to students
not too much topic, focus on relevant knowledge and skill
teacher need to break tasks into component step, communicate it clearly and model the processes in detail
adopting appropriate teaching roles to support our learning goals
continually reflect on our teaching and be ready to make changes when appropriate
