Creative, Constructive Thinking
by Edward de Bono
Thinking is skills / methods to perceive things
critical thinking skills is a part of thinking, not sufficient for all
break the traps
thinking is not born with intelligence and it can be transformed
it can be learned and trained and practiced and used with intentions
attention-directing tools
intelligent persons are not necessarily a good thinker
not to point out or criticise others in order to prove you are more superior than others in terms of IQ. but, to give your constructive and creative feedback
it is not so productive or useful by defending your views because it is a barrier to listening to others' good points.
avoid mistakes in driving = leaving the car in the garage
debate or discussion cannot leave you any transferable skills
helps to judge, analyze and alter
take control over your life and living
instead of being pushed around by circumstance, emotions and other people
think things out and take decisions
learn from a good model
It is about one's perception
understand by seeing, listening, touching
(i think it's the basics), ....?
It's not about logic
good logic is nice but it does not help if there is a wrong perception
caution that poor assumption produces a poor conclusion
even using right logic
of course, poor logic will make things worse
It is not about intelligent
intelligence is like the horsepower of a car
rather, thinking is like driving skills
a powerful car needs good driving skills
an average power car needs good driving skills to make up
how we look at the world. What things we take into account. How we structure the world.
Pro David Perkins at Harvard said the errors of thinkings are errors of perception.
