The postmodernist view is that there is no trascendent truth. Therefore, all meaning is socially constructed.
Meanings are unstable, they change through negotiation and reconstruction.
A way of attempting to empower people, give them their own voice and value.
Literacy can be a tool of opression, it can also be a liberator.
