Khilafat Movement
The treatment meted out by the British government to the Turkish Sultan or Khalifa resulted in making the Muslims angry as the Khalifa was deeply respected.
Its purpose was to pressure the British government to preserve the authority of the Ottoman Sultan as Caliph of Islam following the breakup of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the war. By the involvement of Hindus, this movement grew forceful and there was a possibility of meeting the movement with success
The leaders were Mohammad Ali and Shaukat Ali, supported by Gandhiji.
Non-cooperation Movement

In response to the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and other violence in Punjab, the movement sought to secure Swaraj, independence for India.
Thousands of students left government controlled school and colleges. Many lawyers such as Asaf Ali gave up their practices. British titles were surrendered and legislatures boycotted. The imports of foreign cloth dropped b/w 1920 nd 1922
Gandhiji called of the movement on Feb 1922 as it got violent, in Chauri Chaura(UT) a mob set fire killing 22 policemen during a clash.
Following were the causes:
-Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
-Resultant Punjab Disturbances
-Dissatisfaction with Montagu-Chelmsford Reforms
-Khilafat agitation
-Rowlatt Act
(An act passes by the British that curbed against the basic human rights such as getting together in a group. The Indian citizens could be put behind bars on the suspision of doing something against the British Gandhi and Nehru considered this act of the British as tyrannical and inhuman for any country. This act led to the famous Jallianwala Bagh incident in which the citizens gathered to celebrate a fesital but the British took it as an offence and opened fire killing thousands of people. This act led to the start of the Non-cooperation movement)
Satyagraha
Satyagraha is the idea of non-violence protests which was started by Gadhi ji and was used by him in his early South African protests as well. Satyagraha was very important to ensure people's rights through non-violence and political approaches. Gandhi's vision of satyagraha was to force the British to quit without violence.
