Odysseus is depicted as the hero of the Odyssey. He was made to have the traits of a leader such as strength, courage, a thirst of glory, and confidence. However, throughout the poem, he is show as arrogant, prideful, and stubborn. His flaws lead not only him, but his crew as well, into dangerous situations.

A: Odysseus is supposed to be depicted as an epic hero, however I believe he isn't. He is a bystander towards preventable deaths of his crew members, and sometimes does nothing to save them. Although in the Sirens, he had protected his crew by making them plug their ears with wax, it wouldn't have had to happen if he knew how to properly protect his crew, and not lead them into dangerous situations.
