DEFINITION
Inflammation of the bursa (small fluid filled with sac& sits between muscle,tendon and bones -reduce friction)
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
1) When bursa gets inflamed, it swells,develop friction & starts irritates muscle tendon
2)bursa and muscle tendons gets more irritated, and lead to bursitis
rest the affected joint, ice packs, NSAIDs, injection with steroid agents, exercise
antibiotics,sterile needles (aspiration of infected bursa fluid) , never inject with steroids
