PD, PSED + C&L: Physical development is intricately interwoven with emotional, social and cognitive and language development, physical development underpins all other areas of a child’s learning and development.
C&L + L: Communication and language lay a foundation for learning and development, guiding and supporting children's thinking while underpinning their emerging literacy.
PD, M + PSED: Giving the children opportunity to investigate volume, the weight of full and empty cups, and the height of shapes and tubing. They may count cups of water, and understand the pattern of turn taking.
EAD + PD: Use one-handed tools and equipment, for example making strips of paper with scissors.
EAD + PD: Having the opportunity to fit themselves into spaces, like tunnels, dens and large boxes, and move around in them.
PD + PSED: As children develop their sensory abilities and movements, they can perceive and engage with others. In doing so, more physical activity is spurred which in turn helps build relationships, understanding of feelings and learning about health and physical wellbeing.
EAD + C&L: Expression conveys both thinking and feelings. Children use a variety of ways to express and communicate through music, movement and a wide range of materials.
Prime areas: In every activity, a child experiences feelings and developing a sense of self and others, is physically engaged through their senses and movements, and is learning to understand and communicate with others. It is through these aspects that a child accesses the world around them and relationships with others, opening the door to learning in all areas
