Definition:An object that produces a magnetic force that attracts other magnetic objects (Attracts/Repels other magnets)

Properties
Two poles-North & South, strongest at the poles
Like poles repel, unlike poles attract
Magnetism can pass through non-magnetic materials, but cannot pass through magnetic materials

Applications in daily lives:fridge door magnet, electronic components in our devices (i.e. smartphones and laptops)

A spring balance is used to measure the amount of force needed to move the wooden block across the surface (hence overcome frictional forces between both surfaces)

Applications in daily lives:Car wheels, writing, walking.
Also causes wear and tear, produces heat that causes damage
How to reduce
Lucbricate surfaces with lubricants like oil, grease
Use of wheels, ball bearings and rollers

- make a moving object change its speed (increase / decrease) and its direction of movement

Elastic Spring

Hooke's Law
The extension of an elastic object(e.g. spring) is directly proprortional to the force applied to it
The spring will go back to its original length when the force is removed so long as we do not exceed the elastic limit
Note When comparing elastic objects, use "stiff" instread of "stronger", "hard", or "more flexible"

Galileo VS Aristotle
Two bodies falling through space at the same time, reach the ground at the same time regardless of their weight (Galileo - True but only for vacuum environments)
Heavy objects fall at greater speeds than lighter objects (Aristotle - True but only for non-vacuum environments)
