Signs of a struggle student in class :warning:
Absenteeism
Disorganized in class
Poor grades
Lacks of self-motivation
Struggle with basic reading, writing, math or spelling skills
Avoid class tasks by finding excuses
Anxious about homework
Easily frustrated by class tasks, class environment and peers
forgetful about projects and deadlines
Spend long time working with little or no imporvement
Make negative comments on teachers and school
Have difficulty in following directions
Process of helping a student in class :recycle:
Step 3: Work on personalized instruction plan based the student's needs.
Step 4: Communicate with parent on a regular basis to discuss goals obtained, progress made and supports needs at home.
Step 2: Communicate with parent to understand the student in all aspects.
Step 5: Adjust individual learning plan during the process according to received feedback and constantly class observation on that kid.
If there is no improvement on that kid's performance and behaviors over a period, and the teacher does not think the plan would work, then seek support from school and follow the special education referral process provided by school. :green_cross:
If above process works well, keep working on modifying Individual plan and provide professional at-home advice for parent. :check:
