Why do we seek knowledge?
To broaden perspective
To solve problems and build solutions
To learn the fundamental understandings of the world
To provide confidence and meaning to life
Because Knowledge is power. Man is thirsty for power and fame. To excel in a field, man needs to have a deep knowledge (can be theoretical or practical) about that specific domain.
Because Knowledge felicitates understanding. Man is curious. He is in a continuous search for a purpose and for the meaning of life. Knowledge helps him gain a better understanding of the worldly ways. It helps him to find a purpose in life.
Because Knowledge allows survival. A child does not know the effect of putting his finger in the candle flame. How does he learn that? By gaining knowledge and understanding of the events that unfolded when he put his finger in the flame.
Does our knowledge depend on our interactions with other knowers?
Communicated knowledge
Most of a person's knowledge comes from and depends upon interaction with others.
Knowledge is greatly influenced by the people surrounding us.
Example: Born in family of business owners, perhaps has the access towards knowledge linked towards business.
A person who is living in a secluded area have no scope of communicating with others will be deprived from knowledge and he/her intelligence might also suffer because of this reason
Personal view and perspective is shaped by your contextual assumptions, language, culture, socio-economic position, historical background
Self gained knowledge
Limited in terms of volume and variety
Maybe a deeper more personalized understanding in specific fields, allows for deep diving. However, interactions include using other peoples research and communicating ideas to reach new understandings and perspectives.
Lacks linkage to other fields, Sefl gained knowledge through experience can only vary to a certain extent. The process of self gained knowledge is a long and cumulative process.

Personal experience/ tacti knowldege
Some may argue that tacit knowledge are the most valuable type of knowledge as they only develop through personal experience and time. it is also a intangible information that can be hard to explain. This means it is often personal or cultural, learned over time and usually applies to a specific situation.
Subject specific based knowledge
Subject specific based knowledge often applies to knowledge inquired in a specific field. This type of knowledge is often used when learning or studying a specific field during work or education phase of life. This is also necessary in-order to grow and produce value in a work environment.
Implicit knowledge
Implicit knowledge can be considered an essential part of knowledge. Implicit knowledge are learned skills or know-hows. It is gained by taking explicit knowledge and applying it to a specific situation. Implicit knowledge is gained when you learn the best way to do something. You can then take that experience and synthesize it with other learned information in order to solve an entirely new problem.
