- - - - Beliefs cannot be challenged as there is permanence, high resistance to change and rigidity of extreme level attached to them. There are no discussions but debates in which sides are clear and talks are not for reaching a common ground but to prove their supremacy, their point and somehow win either in favor or against, to reject the existence of grey zone between the two notions. There is a simple way to differentiate them both – if you cannot challenge it, it’s no more an opinion. Beliefs don’t give us solutions, opinions do. Rather beliefs refrain us from evolving as both individuals and society. They can be dangerous as they shut our eyes to other views and when challenged, evoke resentment in us which can trigger varied responses from different people. If you are not ready to even listen to a perspective different from yours, how can you imagine living in a world different from ours?
        
        This is the knowledge that we hold true. It is personal to each person and doesn't always need to be backed up by empirical evidence. It doesn't necessarily have to be true for everyone, instead it's knowledge that, in my judgement, is correct.
  - - - Opinions can be challenged; they can be discussed; they can be penetrated by new ideas. Two people having entirely different “opinions” can come to a common end point by negotiating and understanding each other because there is scope of talks.
    - - This is the personal angle with which each individual interprets the situation and gains knowledge. This is personal since it is the viewpoint that each individual holds. It's important to understand knowledge from various perspectives to gain wholesome knowledge and then deciding which perspective you support/believe. Perspectives cannot always be eliminated while acquiring and interpreting knowledge, hence they will always play a vital role in understanding it. Our unique perspectives are also taken into account while forming our opinions and beliefs.
        
        Since these beliefs and opinions are so personal, they cannot always be proven correct/incorrect. Hence, even new knowledge can be interpreted in different ways due to perspective, hence (repeating) it will have a varying impact on the values and opinions of individuals. New knowledge: new evidence comes to light or new thought process which differs from our old perception. (New knowledge can be considered as new evidence which comes to light, or a new thought process that differs from our old perception.)
  - - - Knowledge is also constantly evolving over time. The world is constantly growing, hence with more research, theories, and information, everyone's knowledge about our world and themselves also change. For example, initially, when Colombus reached the Americas, he believed it was India. Hence, his knowledge was limited but upon further interaction and research, they found that it was actually America, hence knowledge about the location changed.
