      - Calcium Voltage gated channels open and there is an influx from ECF to presynaptic membrane. Calcium concentration increases
      - The neurotransmitter is removed from the synaptic cleft and channel closes. Signals stop and then signals continue in post synaptic cell

      - CALCIUM IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR EXOCYTOSIS
        
        Calcium allows for SNARE proteins for the traffic for exocytosis and diffusion
