The Founders seem to approach Christianity from an intellectual standpoint rather than humbly and with repentance. With the exception of Sam Adams, the Founders seem to stand in judgment of the Bible rather than allow the Bible to be their judge. This results in a pompous attitude of disbelief.
The Founders approach to the Bible and Christianity stands in stark contrast to the narrative of America being a Christian nation because of the men who "found" it. The belief systems and lifestyle of four of the five Founders would actually suggest that America is a Deist nation.
