beatitudes #2
Kingdom J proclaimed & embodied is a new way of seeing/naming/being
Our world sweeps aside those declared blessed by God
We are invited to look again and discern a new reality that is coming into being
When we learn to recognise such people as blessed
But Jesus isn't just preaching - he embodies this new world
Jesus isn't telling us to be poor in spirit (or necessarily to be poor)
but show us how to look upon such people with new eyes, and so gain entrance to a new world.
A vision of communal wholeness rooted in God's liberation of the oppressed
