The In and Out of the Box method is a quick and easy method that helps teams define project or process scope. Begin by drawing a large box on a whiteboard or flip chart. Provide markers and sticky notes for the team. Ask the team to write down elements of the process to be worked on, including resources, activities, and people. Each item should be written on a sticky note. Once a comprehensive list is made, begin working as a team to assign each item to a place inside, on the line, or outside of the box.
