Self/Family
Stop leaks. Check all water-using appliances for leaks. Toilets plumbing, water pipes, and outdoor sprinkler systems are common sources of leaks.
Replace old toilets / clothes washers. The major water use inside the home is toilet flushing and clothes washing.
Toilet habits. Remember to turn of water taps, take shorter showers, use a cup when brushing teeth
公共场所

Innovation
Just a year ago(2022), students and professors at the SMU applied IoT technology and cloud computing to help with a modern solution to this old problem of water conservation.
Their solution was a prototype that can be attached directly to water taps. The prototype uses a water flow sensor to measure the flow rate and volume of water from the faucet, which is then sent to a microcontroller. The server at the backend transforms and stores the data into a database and processes the data. The user interface on an app then displays the user’s water usage habits
With this solution, users are able to view their water consumption and usage frequency. Users can join a community dashboard, where they can compare their water consumption against others in the leaderboard and be motivated to reduce their personal water utilisation. Personalised recommendations can also be provided to help users to optimise their water usage habits.

Where put
In our school, there are similar posters placed both inside and outside every toilet. They can also be seen in the canteen area, where the wash basins are located.
Teach us the value of water conservation and as we cultivate the habit in school, we help to inculcate it in everyone at home too
Why
Worldwide usage
Progress in industrialisation and increase in worldwide population, the amount of water on Earth stays the same.
All living things depend on a limited supply of water for survival, thus we have the responsbility of conserving water and ensuring that our future generations to come have a safe supply
Singapore resources
In land scarce Singapore, we have limited resources and land to collect and store all rainwater.
So we need to import water from other countries like Malaysia to ensure demands are met. As the population and economy continue to grow, Singapore needs to ensure that the demand for water does not rise at an unsustainable rate.
Every drop counts every contribution matters, no matter how big or small. Achieving a sustainable level of water consumption and managing the impact of water on the environment takes the commitment and participation of the community.
As Singaporeans, we make water conservation a way of life and work together to lower our consumption from the current 141 litres to 130 litres per person per day by 2030.
