- - - - When pathogens invade the intestinal mucosa, resulting in systemic disease with gross blood mixed with stools and/or fever, traveler´s diarrhea has evolved into dysentery.
        
        Recomendations
        
        The recommendations to avoid the disease are:
        
        eat food that is cooked and served hoy, likewise avoid food from street vendors and food that is noy well washed.
        
        Drink water from factory-sealed containers
        
        wash your hands frequently with soap and water, in case you are outside disinfect them with alcohol.
        
        Be careful with food and hygiene
        Take preventive medication
        
        Treatment
        
        The treatment is clearly supportive, since it consists of reducing the symptoms that appear, therefore adequate oral hydration must be ensured, correcting dehydration and providing symptomatic relief are fundamental components in the care of all patients with diarrhea.
        
        You can make use of certain medications such as: a loperamide, can be bought without a prescription to treat the symptoms of diarrhea.
        Antibiotics can only be used in severe cases.
