Causes
Insufficient blood supply to
cardiac muscle
PABCD Treatment
P: upright/ semi-reclining
A/B: administer oxygen
C: monitor pusle
Administer: nitroglycerin 0.2-0.6 mg
sublingually repeat in 5 minutes x 3
Emergency care
provide emotional support
place patient in restful, comfortable position
Supply oxygen @
high flow rate (15 L/minute)
assist the pt w/medication
(nitroglycerin)
Recovery/Deterioration Signs
Recovery:
pain subsides;
vital signs remain stable
Deterioration:
pain does not subside
vitals are unstabled
revaluate diagnosis to be AMI
call EMS
