Colonising several disciplines, but common in human geography and environmental sociology, examples of primary
research using recent ideas of social practice are found in studies on building and housing (e.g. Gram-Hanssen, 2010), public
health (e.g. Maller, Nicholls, & Strengers, 2016), consumption (e.g. Hui, 2012), mobility and transport (e.g. Bissell,
2014; Kent & Dowling, 2013), and planning and policy (e.g. Hargreaves, Longhurst, & Seyfang, 2013).
