the Holy Alliance declined
Great Britain’s criticism of its work
absolutist troops did not penetrate Portugal
because of British opposition.
This allowed the Portuguese revolutionaries to establish a constitutional regime.
In 1822
revolutionary outbreaks in France and Russia (were easily stopped.)
1827
a democratic assembly declared Greece’s independence
Greece was supported by many European liberals
from the absolutist power (Ottoman Empire)
Great Britain, Russia and France took part in the war in 1827
in support of the Greeks, who gained independence in 1830.
