- having eli as the son that died in the car crash- whole film the dad sees the song (eg. in the classroom- with glass shards and blood all over him, at home, driving in the passenger seat etc) this fear of guilt haunts him

- aspects of titanic - memories from the past - going into the present
- ad is a teacher - psychologist and helps Eli get through the same trauma he went through – both losing their families
- Eli could go about it in a funny way (including dark comedy lines – like Wednesday Adams), compare to Dad who takes the situation more seriously
- having the dad think he’s seeing his dead son but realises it’s acutally his younger self trying to save him from his grief and loss and wanting him to get his personality back

Film Brainstorm
Film Idea
A father who is mentally confronted/ challenged by his guilty conscious who takes the form of and embodied by his doppelgänger.
-
getting flashes of the son- thriller type (classroom, picture talks to him)
-
son helps him say that it’s not his fault or end with just a pan of the camera zooming out to dad looking down at his son dead from the car crash (which can have more of a dramatic ending of it being unresolved)
-
A scene where the dad looks in the review mirror while driving and sees his son that cuts to himself smiling
Throughout the film his own self appears in corners of the room, and when the light turns on he disappears
-
The build in tension will be through the dramatic music and the flashback getting more and more vivid and real- maybe he runs (trying to run away from himself and his conscious) to where the car crash was held that cuts to the car crash sound and the same shot of the dad looking down on the dead son (one with him there and the present with him not)
