Design Brainstorm
research
primary- interviews, questionairres.
secondary- sources, journals, typically from someone who owned the product writing a piece of information on it
product manufacture
manually
materials: plastic, wood, cardboard, acrylic plastic,
technical appliances- glue, scissors, saw, drills
pros: getting comfortable with technical aplliances in the workshop, and having a tangible product will be more useful than having a prototype. you can also customize the design as you go such as the shape of the product but in softwarre youll have to change the digital composition entirely before you can start thinking of the deco/aesthetics
cons: cons of manually producing the product is the availability of materials, and the cost of new materials need to be bought, and the environmental impact. additionally you cant restrat mid way through the project like you can digitally. and if a mistake does occur it requires a lot of time coming up with a solution that doesnt hinder the prpgress that has been made thus far
digitally
softwares: fusion 360
pros: if a mistake does occur it is easier to go back. and there is less wastage of materials. it also has a good impact on the environemnt as harmful materials such as plastic amd paint are not being used.
cons: wifi unavailability. problem starting the software which makes it harder to use. the cost of certain softwares at high so the software which has the means to achieve what you want is unavailable leaving you with software that don't fit expectations.

retro styling is a number of combination between the past and present. most of the product from the past have been modified to provide a better performance for their purpose for example a vintage watch would be customised to show the date, or become digitalised. however the aesthetics, and composition of the product is kept majority of the time
