ww1, the titanic - Coggle Diagram
ww1
-
ww1 ended on the 11th of november 1918,when germany surrenderd to the allied forces
delagets from 32 countries met in vercalies in june 1919 and sighned a peace sttlemnent called the treaty of vercalises
-
that mr birling dissmises the possiblity of war with germany,
but as readers/watchers we know that infact that war does happen but tenfold worse,
its dramatic irony
-
some of the causes of war dated back to 1800s,
-
-
in 1914 ww1 happend in which europes most powerful countries went to war,
resulted in the deaths of millions, after which many writers were upset at the lack of social responsablity, which was a big cause to preistly writing an inspector calls
mr briling quote "and just a few german officers talking nonsenes" in another qoute he calls it a silly little war,
-
-
the titanic
how its realeted to an inspector calls, when mr irling mentions how the titanic is unsinkable when in fact it is very sinkable, j b prestliy used dramatic irony, he also used mr birlings blatant stupidity shows us he is not to be taken for his word
-
-
in the titanic only 37% of people survived but 63% of first class passsengers survived and 42% of 2nd
and only 24% of 3rd
-
-
the use of unsinkable absultly unskineable is reppiton showing how much faith mr birling has in the ship, (it culd also be a metaphore for his faith in his family failing as well as his political ideas )
and the titanic could be a metaphore for how jb preistly felt about classism and how it made the world fall like the titanic fell
as the floors went dowon the lower class the people were, and the harder it was to reach the life boats
the ship was not safe they didnt prepare for sinking and lots of people died becuase there wasnt enough lifeboats
