Guideline
Beta-blockers + Ace-inhibitor/ARB
Dose reduction if there is kidney injury or if there is contra-indication of it
Diuretics
Furosemide and bumetanide
Side effects include shortness of breath and decreased Na+ and K+
Less fluid retention and shortness of breath
Measuring Vitals
Weight Managment
Patients should be weighed every day
Their weight should be strictly monitored
Sudden weight gains can be caused by increased fluid retension in the body
Increased weight
Administer diruetics
Blood Pressure Monitoring
X-ray Monitoring
Performed when there is suspision that the heart failure has gotten work
Vasodilators
Reduce afterload on myocardium
Includes nitrates, phosphodiesterases etc.
Acute Kidney Failure
Patients with congestive heart failure are at risk of acute kidney failure
Decreased urine output
Increased fluid retenshion
